ANAESTHESIOLOGY

Experience you can trust 1

Experience You Can Trust

Anaesthesiology is the branch of medicine that is focused on the relief of pain in the perioperative period (i.e. before, during or after a surgical procedure).

At Bhrungi, our team comprises top anaesthesiologists who have in-depth knowledge in key areas such as the pharmacokinetics (i.e. the effect of the body on a drug) and pharmacodynamics (i.e. the effect of the drug on the body) of drugs. In addition to pharmacology, our anesthesiologists are well-versed in mechanical ventilation, various monitors of physiological functioning, neuroanatomy and other general areas of medicine.

To provide the best anaesthesia services, our professionals focus on what are referred to as the 6 As. These are:
• Anxiolysis – concerned with the control of anxiousness
• Areflexia – concerned with the loss of reflexes
• Autonomic Areflexia – concerned with the control of the sympathetic nervous system reflexes
• Analgesia – concerned with the control of pain
• Amnesia – concerned with the loss of memory recall
• Anaesthesia – concerned with the loss of sensation with or without conscious thought

The Department of Anaesthesiology uses the most advanced, safe and patient-focused techniques in the delivery of best anaesthetic care. Our team of extremely skilled and well-experienced anaesthesiologists aims to provide maximum safety not only in the operation theatres but also beyond it by optimizing pre-operative patient status and providing comprehensive patient care during the early post-operative period.
Our Anaesthesia technicians are trained in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), ACLS (Adult Cardiac Life Support) and ATLS (Adult Trauma Life Support) to handle any emergency situation.
The Department of Anaesthesiology offers services to CT, ICU, Emergency Rooms, Radiotherapy Units, Labour Rooms, Emergency Surgeries as well as out-of-theatre locations like Endoscopy Suite and CT scans.

Pre-Anaesthesia Clinic

This clinic facility is available for all elective and emergency cases all the time. Trained anaesthesiologists take appropriate pre-anaesthesia care and conduct necessary investigations for preparation of patient for surgery.

Emergency Services

The department is fully prepared, round-the-clock, to handle all emergency lifesaving situations with state-of-the-art equipment that includes crash cart defibrillator, modern anaesthesia work stations, monitors with various parameters suited for adult, paediatric and neonatal patients as well as for those with cardiac complications.

Post-Anaesthesia Care

A very sophisticated post-operative care unit with well-trained staff is available for post-anaesthesia management of patients. A well-equipped intensive care unit with highly trained doctors supports the department.

Pain Management

Utmost care is taken for pain management of patients through usage of epidural catheter technique, regional anaesthesia blocks, IV infusion, PCA infusion pumps and multi-modal medical management.

Round the clock

Round-the-clock services

Bhrungi has very sophisticated laminar Operation Theatres to maintain strict aseptic environment. Our theatres are equipped with advanced anaesthesia workstations to deliver anaesthetic gases in a safe manner.

State-of-the-art systems in OTs provide ETCO2 to monitor CO2 concentration for laparoscopy cases and entropy monitoring for neurosurgery procedures.

Our Anaesthesiology team also comprises experts in pain management to help maintain continuous pain relief in the post-operative period.

Local Anaesthesia

It numbs one small area of the body. You stay awake and alert during the procedure.

Regional Anaesthesia

It blocks pain in an area of the body, such as an arm or leg. Epidural anaesthesia, which is sometimes used during childbirth, is a type of regional anesthesia.

Conscious or Intravenous (IV) Sedation

It uses a mild sedative to relax the patient and a pain medicine to relieve pain. Patient stays awake but may not remember the procedure afterwards.

General Anaesthesia

It acts on the whole body. Patient goes to sleep, feels nothing and has no memory of the procedure performed.
